On Saturday, the UFC returns to England with their top draw from the country and a rematch of one of the most famous finishes in UFC history. UFC 204 will come to pay-per-view, featuring a middleweight title fight, as well as a ton of talent from Europe in a supporting role.

In the main event, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping defends his title for the first time since knocking out Luke Rockhold when he faces challenger Dan Henderson. In their first encounter at UFC 100, Henderson forever added Bisping to knockout highlight reels everywhere, putting him away with one massive punch. http://ufc204online.blog.com/

Bisping is now seeking revenge.

In the co-feature, middleweights Gegard Mousasi and Vitor Belfort look to inch closer to the title picture when they square off. It will be a precision vs. power matchup, which should be interesting.

Also on the card are names such as Stefan Struve, Ovince Saint Preux and Mirsad Bektic, among others. Overall, it should be a great night of fights that entertain the fans. With that, let’s take a look at the card and make some picks.

Main Card

Michael Bisping vs. Dan Henderson

In the main event, a rematch from one of the most iconic finishes in UFC history commences with the middleweight title on the line, as champ Michael Bisping looks for revenge on Dan Henderson. If you remember, Henderson landed one of the most brutal knockouts of all time when he one-punched Bisping’s jaw into a pulverized dust. However, since then, Henderson has aged greatly and Bisping has come to his apex. Henderson still always has the H-Bomb at his disposal, but he’s not as tough, rugged and effective as he used to be (he’s in his mid-40s now). He could always plant another one-punch KO, but I expect Bisping to avenge his previous loss, sending Henderson into retirement empty handed.

Vitor Belfort vs. Gegard Mousasi

The co-main event is an important middleweight bout, as longtime vet Vitor Belfort takes on Gegard Mousasi in what should be a great showdown between top 185ers. This will be a match up of power and precision. Belfort is the power, possessing an aggressive knockout styling that allows him to accumulate hit points quickly. Mousasi is more technically savvy, using better footwork and head movement while sticking and moving from a distance. This fight could go either way. I am sure Belfort can knock Mousasi’s block off, but I will go with Mousasi here to outlast Belfort and wear him down to a decision.

Jimi Manuwa vs. Ovince Saint Preux

Powerful light heavyweights collide next, as highly athletic Jimi Manuwa and Ovince Saint Preux collide. Saint Preux holds the wrestling edge and likely has the explosiveness to get Manuwa to the mat if he times it correctly. On the feet, Manuwa likely holds the edge, as his kicks and punches harness immense stopping power. This will be a back-and-forth scrap, but I think Manuwa pulls this out, potentially earning a late stoppage of Saint Preux.

Stefan Struve vs. Daniel Omielanczuk

On late notice, Daniel Omielanczuk steps in for Ruslan Magomedov in a heavyweight bout to take on Stefan Struve. Omielanczuk has looked improved in recent times, though it has been against the lower-midcarders. Struve represents a guy that has been toward the top end of the division for a long time. However, since his health problems, there have been some serious questions about Struve in the cage. His great length and height advantage will be tough for the Pole to overcome, even if Omielanczuk has uncanny flexibility for a man his size. Struve wins this bout.

Mirsad Bektic vs. Jeremy Kennedy

The bantamweights open up the main card, as Canadian fighter Jeremy Kennedy looks to take out Misad Bektic. Both of these men represent two of the best young prospects currently in the UFC’s bantamweight division. Bektic is 3-0 in the UFC, but has not fought in over a year due to an injury which has kept him out for a while. He is the holder of the clear edge in wrestling. Kennedy takes this fight on very late notice, so this is going to be a tough bout for him. Bektic will ground Kennedy, pound him and score another win.

Preliminary Card

Brad Pickett vs. Iuri Alcantara

Headlining the prelims are the bantamweights, as hometown favorite Brad Pickett looks to halt an invasion by Brazil’s Iuri Alcantara. Pickett seems to be a tad past his prime, which explains his recent winless streak. He’s back in the win column, but the boxer still looks to have lost a step. Alcantara is still a highly athletic and explosive fighter who has the style to counter that of Pickett. The home crowd could give Pickett a pick-me-up, but my assertion is that Alcantara overwhelms Pickett and scores a big victory.

Ian Entwistle vs. Rob Font

British bantamweight Ian Entwistle looks to get back into the win column in front of his home crowd, but in his way is a powerful 135er in the form of Rob Font. Entwistle is a grappler who is famous for his leglocks. For him, it’s kill or go out on his shield, as he either scores the leglock victory or gets beat up in the process. Font represents a far more athletic, powerful fighter with a strong striking ability. He has big knockout power for a 135er, which he will try to employ against Entwistle. That happens, as Font scores an impressive stoppage from strikes.

Davey Grant vs. Damian Stasiak

The bantamweights are set to square off next, as Britain’s Davey Grant looks to continue his comeback when he takes on Poland’s Damian Stasiak. Grant is a big 135er and he uses that size to bully opponents and grind them into sand. Stasiak is very average and doesn’t really stand out in one particular facet of the game. He’s the type of guy that Grant preys on, which is why I see this being a one-sided drubbing in favor of Davey.

Leon Edwards vs. Albert Tumenov

Strikers collide in what should be an early Fight of the Night contender, as British destroyer Leon Edwrads takes on Russian demolition man Albert Tumenov. This should be a simple analysis. Both men are technically sound strikers that have the power to end anybody’s night. Edwards is a tad more quick, while Tumenov is more aggressive and powerful. Edwards needs to drag Tumenov into deep water, while the Russian wants to land one big, clean punch. In what should be a thriller while it lasts, I see Tumenov scoring a big knockout en route to victory.

Mike Perry vs. Danny Roberts

Fresh off a shocking late notice UFC debut victory, Mike Perry headlines the Fight Pass portion of the card against highly touted prospect Danny Roberts. this is another installment of American Top Team vs. Blackzilians, with Perry being the ATT member and Roberts being the Blackzilian member. Perry has shown that his striking in dangerous in his massive upset stoppage of Hyun Gyu Lim. Roberts can strike a bit too, though his ground game is really a force to be reckoned with. I think Perry has been punished for his corner’s bad choice of words about Lim during the fight, as Roberts is a future contender. He beats up Perry on the ground and takes this fight.

Leonardo Santos vs. Adriano Martins

Brazilians square off on British soil in the next bout, as Leo Santos and Adriano Martins look to move further up the lightweight ladder against one another. This is a classic striker vs. grappler matchup. Martins, while very competant on the ground, would be silly not to engage Santos on the feet, seeing as Santos is a world-class grappler. Martins has big knockout power and is criminally underrated. Santos needs to ground Martins, as his submission grappling is the crown jewel of his game. I think Martins shows why he should be a main card player, finishing Santos en route to a TKO.

Marc Diakiese vs. Lukasz Sajewski

Highly touted lightweight prospect Marc Diakiese makes his long-awaited UFC debut in his home country when he takes on Polish fighter Lukasz Sajewski. Diakiese is a big, powerful lightweight with a great amount of athletic ability. He has shown the ability to end an opponent’s night with one punch, as his uncanny power makes him a danger for anybody across the cage from him. Sajewski has been underwhelming as a UFC roster member, so he is being used as a red carpet for Diakiese, who scores a knockout win.
